Yoandry Cáceres Rivero

Basta Ya!!

Lisbon, Portugal

Plastic artist, draftsman, and painter Yoandry Cáceres Rivero was born on September 5th, 1992 and grew up in Vieja Bermaja, a town belonging to the Unión de Reyes municipality, a province of Matanzas, Cuba. He began his professional training as an artist at the young age of 11 and has since flourished in the international art scene at personal and collected exhibitions around the world from Havana, Cuba to Paris, France, and our own Centro Cultural Montjuic gallery in Barcelona, Spain.

Yoandry Cáceres Rivero often shows us every day scenes of figures that can be comforting, while others are blended into more abstracts images that are instantly striking, and thought provoking. Through the use of decades of professional skill and creativity Rivero often dances across the edges of comfort in order to evoke a reaction from a viewer.

As with all great artist the subtle details infused into his work are often felt before they are overtly recognized.

As a member of the Matilde Tamayo Contemporary Art Foundation he has participated in their Pop Scram annual art contests. In 2020 he also returned to his hometown to teach “History and the Appreciation of the Arts” at the José Alberto Rodríguez Acosta Pre-University. He currently lives in Lisbon, Portugal and we are looking forward to seeing more of his work in the future!
