Richard Martin

Interconnected

Barcelona, Spain

Richard Martin, a.k.a. Richard Martin Vidal, is a multidisciplinary artist currently living in Barcelona Spain. He was born in Zürich, Switzerland and developed an interconnected and more transversal sense of life.

In Spain, Martin was initially linked to the Association of Graphic Designers of Catalonia. He has since become an important part of the Catalonian art scene in Spain and a well-known artist abroad.

His studies include the Humanities involving transcendent literature and ideas, formal art training in Applied Arts at the Escola Super de Disseny I Art Llotja, with further studies in Mathematical Science from the University of Barcelona. This lends to Martin having a multidimensional approach to life which is evident within his many works of art.

Foundationally, Richard Martin utilizes his multifaceted passions for creativity, mathematics, and transcendent philosophy by infusing them into his artistic process. This process is displayed in his careful and methodical use of Fibonacci curves in his Curvism compositions. This brain-teasing method of blending universal mathematics with primal nature is brilliantly shown to viewers in artwork such as Interconnected.

“Art is an adventure in an unknown world, different for each viewer.”

Richard Martin

Martin seeks to highlight the interconnected synchronicity between personal human consciousness and the impersonal, yet universal, elements of nature itself. Tying individual humanity to the collective unconsciousness explored by Carl Jung.

He has won numerous awards both nationally and internationally including a Madrid Amnesty International Award, a Luxembourg Art Prize, and more.
