Olga Yohana Chaparro Rodríguez

Falling in Love Again
Bogota, Columbia

Olga Yohana Chapparo Rodríguez is also known as Rogue Cat or Rogue Cat Brush which she uses to sign most of her work. She is a graduate of the Francisco José de Caldas District University where she specialized in human development, with a passion for artistic languages through painting.

Her work reminds us that not all art is a bowl of fruit stuck in the Impressionist Era. It is a deep dive into airbrush techniques and unconventional materials which she uses to reclaim and re-signify public spaces with murals that vibrate right off the street.

It at once reclaims both ancestral memory, and modern cultural identity, with its flair of pop and irreverent punk attitude that is unmistakable in her artwork.

Olga also spent some time working on projects with the mayor’s office of Bogota to reclaim and promote the use of art as a way to open up a dialogue on the street level. Her work can be experienced first hand in the streets of Columbia and online where we highly suggest you follow her work.

Besides being strong voice for the cultural rescue of public spaces through muralism and the languages expressed in artistic work, she also teaches at the Colegio De La Salle Bogotá. There she also researches the artistic and socio-cultural interplay between art and citizenship.

“I feel and experience throughout my professional practice that these three knowledge bases manage to combine which give shape and meaning to my works, I never separate them from each other..”

Olga Yohana Chaparro Rodríguez
