Amor y Felicidad

Chile

Claudia Ortega shows us the power of love in the most colorful way in Amor y Felicidad. The vivid emotional colors instantly draw you in both visually and emotionally.

Ortega is from Arica, Chile with a rich background growing up living with Aymara, Chilean, Peruvian, and Bolivian people. Her more poetic and symbolic approach to art seeks to delve into the philosophy of the universes and sub-universes of life, nature, and different world views of reality.

She also studied at the IBM Advanced Business Institute in New York and has worked in organizational change management and information technology leading tech companies around the world.

Ortega integrates the textiles, stones, and sequins typical of Andean and Latin American cultures into much of her artwork.

She has won many awards in the art world including a scholarship to study as a Master in Current Art at the University of Barcelona.

She is also a member of many associations of international painters including those associated with UNESCO. Her private collections can be found in her home country of Chile, and world wide.

The work Claudia Ortega shares with us has an added special meaning for us at the Wentworth Norton Group. Four days before her 21st birthday Claudia fell ill with intracranial hypertension. Her diagnosis was that, “she would die or go blind,” and she was forced to be on absolute rest, without moving her head, for 9 months.

Our work with those suffering from brain injury and diseases is our core mission and we take to heart her story of not just the diagnosis at a young age but her triumph over that adversity.

She has flourished into the brilliant visual artist and technologist she is today and we are proud to showcase Claudia Ortega’s work at our fundraising events.
