Alejandro Perez Noya is a Uruguayan artist living in Santiago Chile who has public and private collections that have been shown in Kuwait, U.S.A., England, France, Australia, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Colombia, Peru and his home country of Uruguay.

His work Pandemia seems to express the sadness and hopelessness of the pandemic in a way that touches the scared child in all of us. The loss of so many people important to the lives of those who must live on without them.

Noya was born in San José de Mayo in 1971 and he studied art technique abroad in California from 1990 to 1996 at the Continental Academy of Art based in Montevideo. His teachers included Álvaro Fontana, the watercolorist Roberto Garino, and pottery with José Gonzáles, a disciple of José Colliel, a teacher at the Torres Garcia art school.

Today, Noya teaches art techniques himself to students from a diverse number of countries both online and in person.

For 25 years he has directed his art workshop “El Refugio”, sharing their teaching task with children, young and adults. Touting art as a tool of social inclusion, as well as a perfect way for personal and creative development.

He emphasizes his artistic teaching in public schools, private primary education schools, and high schools. This extends into different cultural institutions and educational museums in Uruguay such as the Department of the City of San José de Mayo, public schools Number 86 and 49 of the City of Libertad and 105 and 45 of San José de Mayo.

His work has also extented into the Colegio and Liceo San José in the city of Libertad and at the Colegio y Liceo, Our School of San José de May. Also in the Home Schools of the city ​​of Colonia del Sacramento, Nueva Helvecia, Tarariras and Colonia Valdense, all in Uruguay.

Alejandro Perez Noya has exhibited in Galleries, Museums and Cultural Centers in Uruguay and the rest of the world. He worked for the Praxis Gallery in the city of Lima, Peru in the from 2003 to 2004, exhibiting paintings and sculptures. In 2003, he also exhibited in Kuwait and Arabia in an organized collective of exhibitions organized by the Uruguayan plastic artist Bruno Sfeir.

From 2008 to 2018 Noya participated in the Book and Reading Promotion Fair held in San José de Mayo, that offers personal and collective exhibits with open workshops for children, young adults, and grown adults, as a way of encouraging art and culture.

Noya represented Uruguay at the World Forum of Cultures in the city of Valparaíso – Chile, exhibiting his work and conducting workshops with the support of the Department of Culture and Education of the Intendencia de San José, in 2010.

In June 2021, Alejandro Perez Noya began exhibiting at our International Art exhibits in the Los Angeles area of California, USA.

Today he continues to work on his painting, drawing, and sculptures while also honing his teaching skills. During the pandemic he perfected his Online methodologies and came up with strategic new guides for how students can learn the best over the internet. Noya also continues to share his teaching and art on channels such as YouTube.

The styles that Alejandro Perez Noya employs is as diverse as his art studies and teaching. Noya is not stuck with just a singular way of creating visual artwork and each piece he creates embodies its own school of visual brilliance.

His current visual work extends into all realms from drawing to painting, to ceramics, and sculpture. One example of his skill he showed to everyone from a recent online exhibit was drawn on a square cut panel from the inside of a cereal box. The drawing itself a detailed figure carefully brought to life.

I’d add Noya is a great teacher and a better human. Taking his lessons is a pleasure , he mixes knowledge with a great deal of humor so you always want to continue learning. Admiration towards him and his works of art are constant.
