The book Life Resumed by author Paulina Rael Jaramillo won the Finalist Award in the 2022 Reader’s Favorite International Contest.

About the Author
Paulina Rael Jaramillo has a Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from CSUSB. She has worked with families and youth in various capacities, including crisis intervention and maintenance. Her hands-on experience has given her valuable insight into the damaging effects of trauma resulting from loss and the importance of dealing with negative emotions in order to move forward. In November 2019, the City of Corona and the County of Riverside, CA awarded her the “Purveyors of Peace and Hope” award in recognition for her “exemplary dedication and continual commitment to the community and her services to children and youth”.
In 2009, she began writing healing from loss books after experiencing the loss of several members of her family. Her most recent book is titled, Life Resumed (2023). It empowers readers to reclaim their lives after a crisis and move forward with strength and confidence and is a follow-up to her previous book, “Life Interrupted.”
Her other books include, “The American Southwest: Pride~Prejudice~Perseverance,” a historical overview of the various cultures that have populated the Southwest from ancient times to the present, “The Littlest Chef: Fun and Healthy Recipes for Children,” promotes healthy alternatives to common food ingredients and is part of the health education curriculum at some local public schools.
Paulina began her writing career as a contributing writer for Christian and secular magazines with national circulation. Her articles range from personal experience and current events to career and entertainment. She contributed to eight inspirational books published by Starburst Publishers and Bethany House before writing her own.
She is a popular and versatile speaker and has spoken at various venues including colleges and universities. Some of her topics include: Healing from Loss, Children and Nutrition, Latinos and Education, Composing Your Memoir, etc. She has conducted Healing From Loss workshops at various locations in Southern California based on her books and is a workshop facilitator for The Stephan Center.
