TLALTEKUHTLI (Goddess of the Earth)
Mexico
“This piece represents the pre-Hispanic goddess of the earth, a symbol of fertility, life and creation.“
Rich Arnauda
Rich Arnauda creates visual works of art that resonate his blended Aztec and Spanish backgrounds. On one side upbeat and sentimental, but filled with a passionate aggressive sense that draws the eye very deeper into the complexities of his work.
His painting, TLALTEKUHTLI, celebrates the pre-Columbian Mesoamerican deity worshipped by the Aztec people. The bright colors of the work itself are at once joyous and filled with feminine power.
This past September his painting, YANKUITLAMAMALI (New Traditions), won an award from our Centro Cultural Montjuic gallery in Barcelona Spain.

Mixta sobre tela 100 x 100 cm.

For over 30 years Arnauda has worked professionally to bring his visual mastery to galleries and public spaces in various states of Mexico and abroad at galleries found in many countries of Western Europe, including our own in Barcelona.
Arnauda studied at the National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico and took private class with renowned masters in a long list of creative mediums including the use of plastics, bioconstruction, and large scale work.
We here at Wentworth Norton Group in the United States and the Centro Cultural Montjuic gallery in Barcelona Spain greatly appreciate Rich Arnauda’s contributions to our programs.
He is an artist who deserves to be recognized for both his personal passion for creating incredible works of art and for filling the world around him with colorful joy.
