Optimizing Brain Function

Through Art & Music

OUR HISTORY

Our founders, Dr. Rosabel Young and David Hampton, established the Wentworth Norton Group in 2016, to help persons with brain injuries. Many patients who recover physically are still unable to return to their previous normal in society and work because of cognitive and behavioral difficulties.

Research shows that creative activities can enhance brain cell connections, and Dr. Young has observed that art and music can improve cognitive and behavioral functioning in brain injury patients.

Allentown farm in Pennsylvania – Cooperative farm to promote racial relations and self esteem in lower income neighborhoods.

Dr. Young was prompted to set up the community Coop farm after the massacre at TOPS Market in May 2022, when ten people were murdered in a mass shooting, all African-American, by a 19 year-old White Supremacist, for no reason at all other than their race.
The incident took place in the town of Buffalo, Western New York State, not too far from the Pennsylvania Border. Dr. Young decided to drive around the area and interviewed residents of various races and backgrounds, young and old, asking, Why?
After hearing their thoughts, she put together a group in Bethlehem, PA, not too far from the border with New York State, and started working on the farm as a place in nature where people would learn to be productive and work together in peace. This also promotes Green Earth and sustainability principles.
